Dear Kyndall,
I’d like to wish you a happy fourteenth birthday. I’ve been meaning to write sooner, but I’ve just been so busy. Two weekends ago, we had a yard sale. Over Memorial day, I went on a men’s fishing trip with the church. We stayed overnight and it was a lot of fun.
The first house you lived in, after your birth, was our home in Middletown, Ohio. I still own the home, but I offered it to my sister and her husband. They moved in a couple of years ago, but if they remain there until the loan is paid off, the house will be theirs.
What did you get for your birthday? Well, I love you and miss you dearly. I sure would enjoy a letter. I’m not sure if you’re prohibited from writing me, or if you just don’t want to write. Then again, maybe my letters are being confiscated and destroyed, Orwellian fashion. Thus, you may not even know I’m writing you, but regardless, I’m going to write you anyway. I love you to much to let you go.
Love always,
Dad
