Dear Tobie,
It’s been five and a half years since we’ve talked. I’ve sent you several letters, but haven’t receive a response. This time, however, I’m reaching out through the internet. I hope all is well with you, and I pray that you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s. Reaching out to you is a reminder of how God reached out to me. At Christmastime, we celebrate the birth of our blessed Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. However, His death and resurrection was the fulfillment of God’s plan to save mankind from their sins, for all who believe. People believe when God calls them to Himself. This Christmas, I’m calling you through the internet.
So how old are you now? I’m guessing you’re about 11. What did you get for Christmas? I understand that you visited Novi, MI last summer. How was your trip? Did you do anything fun and exciting? I would love to hear all about it.
This week, I’m going to be fairly busy. I’m emptying Joshua’s (your cousin Jay), apartment. He passed away on December 3 at the age of 21. Life is fragile and time is short. Don’t waste it on television, video games, or social media. I’d rather spend my time writing to you, because your life has value.
I’m excited to post these letters online, and hopefully, they’ll reach you and touch your life. I will also mail you physical copies. My earnest desire is for us to reconnect and rebuild the relationship that God has intended all along.
I love you and miss you dearly. I’ll let you go for now, but write back soon. My address is: 850 Ginger Ridge Dr. Trenton, OH 45067 and my email is: strikingdownthehome@protonmail.com.
Love always,
Dad
